Great writers in Ricoh Room

We are learning to write our stories in Ricoh Room.

We have to plan what we want to write. Our picture helps us plan.

We tell our story to ourselves or a friend or the teacher.

We write the sounds we hear in difficult words.

We use our word card to find the basic words.

Henry and Madeline can do these things when they write.

 Madeline's story :  Mrs McMillan burnt herself on the oven door. She was pulling the pizzas out of the oven. They were hot. A big blister appeared on her leg. She put it under a cold tap.



Henry's story:    I caught a lizard in the weekend.

Japanese Students came to visit

  We had two visitors this afternoon. A group of Japanese students are studying English at our school.

Chie and Maho are our new Japanese friends.

They taught how to make an origami heart.

Chie and Maho gave us two gifts, an origami crane and an origami spinning top.

Visiting Park Street

As part of our Inquiry into "Belonging in a Community" we crossed the road by the school to visit the people who were spending the day at the Park Street Centre.

We introduced ourselves, we sang a song then we read books from our book boxes to them.

We liked them and they liked us.

We helped in our community.

 

 

 

Making Yachts

 

 

The letter of the week is Y. We made yachts out of a box and bits and pieces. We are very creative. Some of us put a crew on the yacht. Someone made a very tall mast.

 

 

 

Our Buddy Class

 

We have a buddy class who are much much older than us. They are Year 7 and 8s. We are Year 1s.

Some Fridays we meet with our buddies to talk, share or play a game.

Our buddies are kind and fun to be with.

Finding numbers everywhere....

Ricoh Room have been looking for numbers.

We found numbers in the car park on the number plates.

 

 

We made number plates for our scooters.

 

 

This number plate has 3 letters and 3 numbers.

Here we are....

Here are our Ricoh Room 2 children leaning on the huge container that appeared in our playground.

Oops, someone was hiding at the end!!!

We opened the big doors and looked inside, but the container was empty.

 

Now a fence is around our car park and a building has appeared. What is happening??
